Professional Biography

Chef Cindy Anderson        Cindy Anderson trained at The Culinary Institute of America, Hyde Park, New York, and has worked in the hospitality industry throughout her professional career. Opon graduation she stayed on in a Fellowship position, training with some of the most celebrated Maitre d’ professionals in the industry. On leaving the school Cindy traveled extensively and worked under several chefs including Certifed Master Chef  Jack Shoop at Gina Rosa Ristorante in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. Later in her career, working for Walt Disney World Resorts in Orlando, Florida influenced her tremendously in the areas of leadership, training and organization as well as creating an awe-inspiring experience for every guest.

 On relocating to North Carolina she worked under Celebrated Chef Cory Mattson at The Fearrington House in Chapel Hill and spent several years with Chef Richard Hege and Steven Horowitz of Margaux’s in North Raleigh.

  In more recent years Cindy successfully designed, opened and ran Cindy’s House Cafe and Catering in downtown Cary, and in 2005 she was awarded the title North Carolina Business Woman of the Year. Though during her years with the business it flourished and had become a much loved part of downtown Cary, Cindy eventually sold the business to further family life.


  Cindy has said, “At its core, this industry is based on the desire to  bring joy to others through creating memorable experiences around one of humankind’s most basic needs.”


  Cindy lives in Cary with her family and often volunteers her time to teach culinary skills at her youngest daughter’s preschool.
